James Arthur McClain Sr.

The Lord has made His return for our dear family member and Friend, James Arthur McClain, Sr. age 86, of 111 East Caldwell St, Morganton, NC. James answered the call of the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC

James McClain was born Saturday, December 13, 1930 to the late Walter McClain and Thelma Moore McClain. James loved music and his family and friends. His early years were spent living in Austin where he attended Travis County Public School and afterwards serving honorably in the United States Army.

James was preceded in death by his sister, Lela Favor. Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Patricia Ann Lytle Shade McClain of the home; a son James McClain, Jr. of Austin, TX; two brothers, Charles Edward McClain of Temple, TX and Clarence McClain of Austin, TX; a sister, Laura Hopper of TX; three step-sons, Lemuel Shade (Charnette) of Wilson, Warren Shade of Morganton, Sean Shade (Sara) of Austin, TX; and six step-grandchildren, Porscha Shade of Morganton, Brianna Shade and Taylor Shade of Asheville, Jordan Shade of Austin, TX, and Troi and Chavon Shade of Wilson. James is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

James was well loved and thought of by his friends. He will be sorely missed but it is comforting to know that he is resting in the Arms of Jesus. Our hearts are filled with memories which we have gathered all thru the years all the happy times we have shared will be sacred souvenirs.
