Kenneth Matthew Burgess

Kenneth Matthew Burgess, 30, of Morganton, answered His call on Friday, September 13, 2013. Born June 8, 1983 in Burke County, he was a son of Kenneth June, of Morganton and Faith Burgess Twitty and husband, James, of Morganton. He was a member of the Lighthouse Mission, Morganton. Kenneth loved music, writing lyrics and singing and had a dream of becoming a barber. He was preceded in death by one brother and twin infants.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth will also be lovingly remembered by his maternal grandmother, Lucille Burgess of Morganton, maternal grandfather, Charles Burgess of Morganton, and paternal grandmother, Martha June of Morganton;

four sons, Jaylen & Jordan Burgess, both of Morganton and Raekwon & Daeshawn Garner, both of Marion;

two daughters, Makiya and Nadia Burgess, both of Marion; four brothers, James, Anthony & Bryant Burgess, all of Morganton and Lamar June, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Keisha Burgess Watson and Amanda Conley, both of Morganton; a very special friend, Ashley Williams; special friends, Samantha Avery and Jada Jackson; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Cousins will also loving remember Kenneth.

Funeral Services for Mr. Burgess will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2013, in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton, with Bishop Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lenoir, NC. The family will receive friends 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton.
