Phyllis Clark Whisenant

Phyllis Clark Whisenant was born on September 3, 1942, in Otsego, West Virginia. She was a longtime resident of the Enola community and later resided in Newland, North Carolina. Phyllis passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 83, and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Clark and Wonna Stamey Clark; her younger sister, Peggy Clark Puett; and her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert “Bob” Whisenant.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Regina Whisenant Gordon; her son, Rodney Whisenant; and three grandchildren, Carson Gordon, Hunter Gordon, and B. Whisenant. She is also survived by her sisters, Eva Ruth McKee and Brenda Brittian; her brother-in-law, Clifford Puett; and a special person, David McCurry.

Phyllis will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and sweet personality. She brought warmth and love to those around her and will be deeply missed.

Services will be announced at a later date and will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
