

Richard Chesek, age 64, of Morganton, passed away Thursday, September 29th 2011. He was born to the late Anthony Chesek and Lena Yrugalvich Chesek on June 16th 1947 in Newark, NJ. Richard was of the Methodist faith, and served his country honorable in the Army. He was a talented woodworker and artist, building fine furniture and creating beautiful chalk drawings. His front yard received the nickname as the “Southern Yankee Workshop” for his many projects. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by a son, Anthony Chesek, and four brothers, Frank, George, John and Charles Chesek.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Edna F. Chesek of the home; a son, Casey Patrick Chesek of the home; four daughters Nadine Chesek of the home, Tammy Ann Dean and her husband, Tilghman of Morganton, Daniell Ellen Chesek and Fiancé, Joshua Norman of Morganton and Harley Michelle Chesek of the home; four grandchildren, Samantha Messer and her husband, Caleb, Angelique Dean, Tilghman A. Dean and Sahara Norman; a great granddaughter Malorie Marie Messer; three brothers, Christy Chesek of Toms River, NJ, Tommy Chesek and his wife, Lorraine of Port Monmouth, NJ and Anthony Chesek of Colonia, NJ; two sisters, Helen Momtaz of Manchester, NJ and Annmarie Johnson of Costa Mesa, CA; and two beloved pets, Missy and Sassy. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held with military honors at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 4th 2011 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
