He was the son of the late Lionel and Maggie Lee Logan and is also preceded in death by his brother Jim Logan. He is survived by his loving daughter Kimberly Logan McGeady of Severna Park, MD her husband Matt, son Logan and triplets Matthew, Maggie, Emi; and also a proud son, Marion Christopher Logan of Savannah and his wife Kayre and daughters Sidney Wells and Ella.
Bob was born in Morganton, graduated from Morganton High School and Western Carolina University and served in the US Army. He was a long time resident and active member of the Drexel community for many years. He retired from Great Lakes Carbon Corp after 37 years but was better remembered for his involvement in the local community. He was an active member and deacon of both Drexel First Baptist and Morganton First Baptist Church, Scoutmaster, outdoorsman, volunteer fireman and log homebuilder. Bob enjoyed gardening, providing a wonderful home for his family and spending time with his six grandchildren. He also participated in mission trips to West Africa, Brazil, Ecuador, Haiti and Puerto Rico and was an anonymous financial supporter to many organizations, schools and individuals who were in need of assistance and a helping hand. He truly believed in helping others.
It is with both sorrow and celebration that we move into another chapter of life without our father but we will always carry forward the memories of love, support, guidance, comfort and happiness. These memories and the lessons learned from our father have helped us to be become better individuals and better parents of which we hope we can pass along to others. We are so grateful and blessed that words will never be able to express how fortunate we are to have ‘Bod’ as our father.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agape Sunday School Class at Morganton First Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday July 2 at Morganton First Baptist.
