Steven Dale Rogers

Steven Dale Rogers, age 68, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Steven was born the son of the late Randolph Rogers and Ruby Singleton Rogers on November 24, 1949 in Burke County.

Steven was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing bass guitar and listening to bluegrass. Steven had a unique and fun loving personality. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

Along with his parents, Steven is preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Rogers.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include two sons, Scott Rogers and his wife Michelle of Valdese and Benjamin Rogers of Mobile, Al; a brother, Randy Rogers of Morganton; and a special fishing friend, Deborah King of Morganton; and five grandchildren, Avery, Austin, Pierce, Isaac and Eva. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Cross officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family suggests memorials be made to Brookwood Baptist Church or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care.
