William Charles Absher

Mr. William Charles Absher, 83, of Morganton, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, while at Grace Hospital, Morganton. Born August 9, 1927, in Burke County, he was a son of the late Alvin Thomas Absher and Lillie McCall Absher. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Charles was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Morganton. Mr. Absher was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army. Charles was with Drexel Heritage Furniture for 29 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ira C. Absher, of the home; two sons, Bruce Absher and Kevin Absher, both of Morganton;

a daughter, Paula Moore, of Drexel; three grandchildren, Jonathan Absher, Lindsay Absher and Tyler Moore also survive Mr. Absher.

Funeral Services for Mr. Absher will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the Bethel Baptist Church, Morganton with the Reverend Gary Cline officiating. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Absher’s memory to Bethel Baptist Church, 3861 Pax Hill Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
