ANTHONY (TONY) DWAIN HOLT, age 53 of Morristown was welcomed home to the Loving arms of Jesus and his Momma and Daddy on Sunday, August 30, 2015. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwain and Edna Holt; grandmother, Gertie Holt and uncle, Dave Ogan. Tony’s strength and courage is an inspiration to his family and friends that will be with us forever. He showed us that with will and desire anything is possible. Nothing ever came easy for Tony. The simplest things that we take for granted, he had to fight to do. And he did so with pride, not complaints. There are no words to describe the love and admiration we feel for him and the empty space in all our hearts. Tony touched many, many lives as he traveled thru this world. He devoted his life to Buffalo Trail Skating Rink, giving as well as receiving joy and fulfillment working beside his lifelong friend, Shelby Trent. He was very proud of his accomplishments, graduating high school, participating in Special Olympics, working at the Dollar General Store, paying for his first car himself, mowing thousands, and I mean thousands, of yards, and his knowledge of wrestling. Tony was probably the world’s greatest wrestling fan and frequently educated his family about wrestling. He had a great pride in finding the Lord and being baptized. Anytime we went anywhere with Tony, there was someone that knew him. He never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a hand never expecting anything in return. He was just glad he could be of help. He was a loving and devoted son, the absolute best brother ever, a fun and loving uncle, a phenomenal great-uncle, and a good and loyal friend. We are blessed that God allowed us the gift of Tony in our lives and even though we grieve for our loss, we rejoice in his reward and find comfort in our knowledge that as the Angels stood watch, he was led home by his momma. He is survived by his most favorite people in the world: Kelly, Rylin and Xalyn, Garet Keller, Cheryl and Tony Turley, Kim and Nathan King, Jimmy Snyder, Kristy, David and Nacoma Curl, Skye King and Jerimiah Crider, April, Rodney, Lucas and Lance Crider, Pete, Misty and Preston Snyder and special friends, Donna Greer, Gail Peacock and Shelby Trent, and his aunt Ilene and aunt Myrtle. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Pastor Mike Sledge officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, September, 4 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
