Rev. John H. Ramsey, age 56, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a member of Free Spirit Missionary Baptist Church. He had pastored four churches and worked at Shelby Williams as a welder. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Spence Ramsey; daughter, Katie Ramsey; brother, Rev. Tommy Ramsey; and sisters, Rosie Cope and Ann Bull.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Ramsey; sons, Jonathan Ramsey of Whitesburg and Travis (Tiffanie) Ramsey of Morristown; four grandchildren, Alyse Ramsey, Bella Ramsey, Seth Ramsey, and Hayden Ramsey; brother, Rev. George (Debbie) Ramsey of Morristown; sisters, Jessie (Bruce) Singleton and Pinie Stevens, both of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev. J J Harris and Rev. C H Dalton will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
