

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, where he served as a Chopper Gunner in Vietnam. He ended his military career as decorated war veteran with an E-5 ranking and a honorable discharge. In later years, he was a longtime & valued employee of Wild's Building Company where, prior to his retirement, he served as a superintendent, in North Carolina. Throughout his life, his love of music endured. He was not only a dedicated veteran and employee but also a gifted musician in both vocals and bass guitar. He would continue to play the music he loved until the very day of his passing.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. and Dorothy Potter; loving wife of 13 years, Cindy (Lou-Lou) Potter; and brother, David Wayne Potter.
He is survived by his daughters, Renee Bray (Andy), of Knoxville, Amber Potter of Jacksonville, North Carolina; April Potter of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; a brother, Stan Potter of Morristown; and a sister, Teresa Dixon (Mike) of Morristown. Also surviving are his four grandchildren; Talon Bray, Addy Bray, Emily Potter (Papaw's lil Angel) and Mikey Potter (Cat Daddy) and special nieces and nephews, Kelly Vokas, David Wayne Burgin and Ben Burgin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 P.M. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Bethesda Cemetery for an 11:00 A.M. committal service. VFW Post 5266 of Morristown, Tennessee will render military honors. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
