LON VAUGHN, age 81 of Russellville, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at his residence. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a home builder and built at least 100 houses in the area and Lon loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Harvey and Mary Gill Vaughn; sister, Jane (Harding) Hipsher; brothers, Miller Lee “Jack” (Mable), Sam (Alma), Herbert, Sterling, Delmer (Ginny) and Cline Vaughn. Lon is survived by his wife, Wanda Chapman Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Pauline Vaughn, Doris Vaughn, Sallie Vaughn; nieces, Kathy (Mike) Mills, Barbara (John) Cranford, Orpha (James) Harrell, Doris Ann (Herk) Holbert, Wanda (Bill) Burgess, Linda (Fred) Goldsmith, Kristi Vaughn and Jo (Gene) Accerbi; nephew, Glen (Jody) Vaughn and two special little friends, Joshua and Corey, who called him “Papaw” and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Mr. Paul Chapman officiating.
