

Raymond Henry Hodge, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born and raised in Rutledge. Ray accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He entered the U. S. Army at age 18 having served in Korea, Alaska, Japan, Germany and Italy before retiring after 20+ years of service. He then worked at Sorbus Corporation in Oak Ridge as a Computer Technician for 20 years. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ray will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Hodge; daughters, Karen Greene and Renee Bulla; and special cousin, Amon Cruse.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maureen Hodge; daughter, Cheryl Stokes; son-in-law, Terry Greene; brother, John Hodge and wife Woneta; sisters, Bertie Howerton and husband Elmer, and Katherine Brantley; brother-in-law, Lamar Black and wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Wanda Owen, Jean Arrowood and husband Sam, Teresa Bawgus and husband Richard; grandchildren, Paul Greene and wife Sherry, Susan Chilton and husband Edward, Renee Fowler and husband Stephen, Alex Greene, Bobby Owens, Sandy Nickels and husband Ricky, Tony Hixon, and Christopher Hodge; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Friday, May 22nd at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Bawgus officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.
