Scotty was born on May 21, 1969, in Morristown to Gerald and Patricia (Patti) Breeden. A true son of East Tennessee, he spent most of his childhood outdoors—farming, fishing, playing ball, and occasionally getting into harmless mischief. He graduated from Morristown East High School in 1987.
Scotty was known for his unmatched sense of humor, his willingness to help anyone (often before they even asked), and for being the kind of guy who never met a stranger. He insisted on working hard, even when he shouldn’t have. He had a special love for mowing the yard, and few things brought him more joy than a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks—something he insisted was “manly enough” if you ordered it with confidence.
Above all, Scotty will be remembered for his deep love for his family and the way he could make any moment lighter just by being there. He lived with a servant’s heart and a quiet faith, trusting in Jesus and doing good in the everyday, small ways that often go unnoticed—except by those who felt his kindness.
We find peace in knowing Scotty is now resting in the arms of Jesus, reunited with his parents and loved ones gone before him. While our hearts are heavy, we hold to the promise of eternal life, and we rejoice in the hope of seeing him again.
He is survived by his sister, Sharla Conklin (Trapper Lovin); his daughter, Heather Breeden; his granddaughter, Journee Breeden; and his niece and nephew, Macy and Drew Conklin. He is also survived by several special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Patti Breeden; and grandparents, Turner and Ruby Breeden, and James and Juanita Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home, with the funeral immediately following at 7 p.m. The family will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens on Monday, April 28th, at 1 p.m. for a graveside service. All who knew and loved Scotty are welcome to attend and celebrate his life with the family.
In lieu of flowers, if you feel led to contribute towards final expenses, the family would be incredibly grateful.
Scotty will be dearly missed, but his laughter, loyalty, and big-hearted spirit will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him. Until we meet again, may he rest in heavenly peace.
