Unive Barnard Cook, age 90, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Heritage Center. She was a member of Swann Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milom Cook; parents, James W. and Nellie Barnard; brothers, Henry, Garrett and George Barnard; sister-in-law, Lorene Barnard; and brother-in-law, Bill Herndon of Damascus, MD.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bethel C. and James Turner; grandsons, Eddie Turner and Jerry and wife, Eva, Turner; great-granddaughter, Hannah Turner; sister, Anna Lee Herndon of Damascus, MD; sister-in-law, Dessie Cook; caregivers, Emma Short and Eleanor McDaniel; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev. Porter Carroll and Rev. Barnette Vaughn will officiate. Family and friends will gather in Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery at 10:50 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the services.
