

John Mullins, 93 of Randle, WA, passed away December 8, 2012 in his home with his loving family by his side. John was born on February 9, 1919 to Mart and Melissa Mullins in Onalaska, Wa. At the age of 15 John left home to work in the woods with a misery whip and springboards falling timber. He spent over 30 years cutting timber in all sorts of weather; he retired at 62 and was in retirement for 31 years when he passed away. From 1942 to 1945 John served in the United States Army during WWII and was a true war hero, he was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor in North Africa.
John was a hard worker and loyal friend. He loved to play horseshoes after retirement. He was also a master hunter that loved to hunt black bear and fish for salmon. He was also an avid supporter of his son John’s musical career.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Hazel and their first born son John. Survivors include sons David, Larry, Marty and daughter Janice, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation for John on Thursday, December 13 from 12-5pm at Brown Mortuary in Morton WA. A graveside service with military honors will be Friday, December 14, at 11am at Rainey Valley Cemetery in Glenoma, WA. Services are under the care of Brown Mortuary in Morton.
