Albert LeRoy Hollingshead, Sr.

He was born in Devers, TX and lived in Moss Bluff. He was a member of the Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church, U.S. Navy Veteran of WW ll and he owned and operated Hollingshead Water Well Service and was instrumental in getting community water in Ward 1. He also owned the first home in Lake Charles with full electricity. He was active in many Civic organizations and was instrumental in starting the Volunteer Fireman in Moss Bluff and he also was the announcer for Sam Houston High School Football.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie and husband A.J. Reeves of Moss Bluff; son, Albert “Al” Hollingshead, Jr and wife Jackie of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Aaron and wife Monique Reeves of Topsy; Kristy and husband Robert Lenhart of Gillis and Austin Hollingshead and wife Michelle of Moss Bluff; great grandchildren, Ethan and fiancée Haley and Aleksa Reeves of Topsy; Leann and Preston Lenhart of Gillis; Elijah Hollingshead of Moss Bluff; brother, Thurman Hollingshead of Nederland, TX and Lucy the granddog.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5pm until 9pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff and resume Friday from 9am until time of service at Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church. Services will begin at 11am.The Rev. Jarred Pugh, Rev. Archie Holly and Rev. Jon Hair will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
