

Bernard Wayne Loftin, 78, was born in Lafayette, LA., to Oscar and Luvenia Loftin – the second oldest of six children. After graduating from LaGrange High School in 1957, he served in the U.S. Army as an electric motor and generator specialist and test track driver. He was saved in 1958 while on leave and henceforth dedicated his life to serving his savior. He married the love of his life, Linda Gail Phillips, in September 1964 and they raised five boys together. Bernard Loftin went to work for PPG in 1966 as a machinist and inventor. He was ordained a Baptist minister in 1991 and served as interim Pastor of Nibbletts Bluff Bible Church, and a bible teacher. Bernard Loftin was an ethical and spiritual role model to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Linda, and his children: Scott (wife Kathy), Jeffery (wife Rumprai), John (wife Leslie), Bill (wife Jenny), and Jason (wife Tamra). He is also survived by his brother, Raymond Loftin (wife Elaine), sisters, Mary Donoho and Millie Franklin. As well as 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Ruth and Florence.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Moss Bluff Bible Church with visitation starting at 4pm. Cremation is entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
