Called into eternal rest is the beloved Billie Jean Jones, of Moss Bluff, La. Billie entered the Gates of Heaven December 14th, 2013. She was a graduate of Kisatchie High School and was a graduate of Delta Business College. She was also a member of The First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. She will always be remembered as a gentle, loving soul. Yet her zeal for life made her a strong, independent woman who was resourceful and respected by all. Her dedication to her family was tremendous, as she supported and attended every endeavor her two boys undertook, including every activity her grand-children ever participated in. She was a brilliant cook, and an admired, experienced gardener. She also was an expert fisherman, with her soul-mate Eugene whom she shared 63 wonderful years. Her sincerity is only eclipsed by her inner beauty. For those fortunate to know her, know she exemplified 'sacrifice above self' in all she did. To light up a room, all she had to do was smile. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in passing by the love of her life, Eugene Jones; and her parents Willie E. and Annie D. Matthews. Survivors include her two sons, Terry Jones and his wife Lisa, and Greg Jones and his wife Michelle, all of Moss Bluff, La; her sister, Bonnie LaFleur, and brother Charles Matthews; 6 grand-children, Teri Bailey, Jared Jones, Austin Jones, Traci Jones, Kyle Jones, Kayci Jones, and 1 great grandchild, Ryann Bailey.
To honor and celebrate her life, the visitation is Monday, December 16th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, and will resume 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at Hixson's Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. The service to celebrate her life is Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hixson's of Moss Bluff. Interment will be at the Old Richie Cemetery.
