Clarence graduated third in the Lake Charles High School class of 1943. Although he was classified 4-F for World War II, he served in Civil Defense at Chennault Air Base. He was permitted to enlist in the Army after World War II and served 18 months. His life long love of aviation led to his earning a private pilot license. He retired from Olin Chemical after 30 years in the Instrumentation Department. His gift of the spirit was compassion. Clarence was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest struggle was the loss of his wife, sons and surviving polio. Clarence was a lover of science, music, writing and painting. He considered himself a jack of all trades and master of none. He could fix anything and once built a hot rod car with his son Kelly Warren Fisher. Clarence was a long time member of First Baptist Church Moss Bluff having served in multiple departments. Clarence Goodman was the grandson of Clarence Walter Fisher, the pioneer from Wichita, Kansas who settled the area of Fisherville.
