He was born in Hecker, LA and lived in the Goos Ferry Community most of his life. Gordon retired from Electrician’s Local 861 and served his country in the US Army in World War II. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who always had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Laura Goos; his son, Wesley Goos and wife, Donna of Goos Ferry; daughter, Juanita Munoz and husband, Rick, of Lompoc, CA; grandchildren, Leslie Goos, Shelly Welch, Christa LaFleur, Cali Munoz, Kaitlin Munoz; 8 great grandchildren and sister, Pauline Daughtery of Goos Ferry.
His funeral will be a 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. U.A. Dorion and Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Visitation will be held 4 - 9 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2011 and resume Tuesday, 8 a.m. til time of service. Burial will be in Goos Cemetery.
