Joseph "O.W." Reed

He was born in Basile and lived in Gillis where he was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and served as an usher for 28 years and for a time head usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. O.W. retired as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic and enjoyed wood working.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Oma Jean Miller Reed of Gillis; daughters, Cathy Reed-Goos of Gillis; Karen Reed Buller and husband Rod of Gillis; sister, Janice Reed LeBert of Rayne; grandchildren, Joseph Gray Reed and wife Ruby, Kristin Buller Bearce and husband Jason, Kandice Buller Wolfe and husband Dylan, Pam Nelius and husband Howard, Jason Korn and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ezema Reed, his son, John Russell Reed, his daughter, Martha Gail Reed Borne.

His service will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Msgr. Charles Dubois will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and resume Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
