A Vietnam War veteran, Ken served in the United States Army for 34½ years—and could calculate his service down to the minute. During his military career, he earned a Master of Business Administration and retired as a CW5, the highest rank attainable for a Warrant Officer. He concluded his service as Dean of the Warrant Officer School at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he mentored and led future Army leaders.
Ken will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his strong work ethic, and the stories and "Dad jokes" he loved to share with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Loretta Doucet Rougeou; his children, Lisa Green and her husband Joshua Green, Kenneth Rougeou, Jr. and his wife America, Elle H. Simone (Lenora), and Kevin Rougeou; his grandchildren, Dylan Ryder, Sophia Hayes, Talon Hayes, William Rougeou, and Simon Biemans; his great-grandson, Baer Bertrand; and his siblings, Sabra Benny and her husband Marvin, Karen Hudson and her husband Wesley, and Henry Rougeou and his wife Thelma. Plus cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Cilton Rougeou, Sr. and Muriel Magehee Rougeou; and his siblings, Lewis Rougeou, Jr., Timothy Rougeou, Lelon Rougeou, and David Rougeou.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a catered reception during the visitation. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., followed by military burial at Rougeou Cemetery in Longville, Louisiana.
