Larry Alfred Battles

He was born in Lake Charles. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Moss Bluff.

Larry was a successful business man in the Moss Bluff Community. He retired from Industrial Construction Co. He was a member Local 106 Plumbers and Steamfitters union. He, his wife Dell and his family operated The Word Shoppe & Paper Supply in Moss Bluff for over 28 years. He later opened up a vitamin & Herb Shoppe in Moss Bluff on Hwy 171. He loved his family and he loved helping people feel better by using vitamins and herbs.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dell Battles in 1998. They were married for 39 years.

He is survived by 3 children; Katherine Battles of Lake Charles, two sons Chris Battles his wife Michelle Lee Battles, Martin A."Marty" Battles LPI, CII.and his wife Patrica Brignac Battles. He had 5 grandchildren, Chase Martin, Lauren Battles, Taylor Battles, Marley Battles, & Mason Battles.

He is also survived by one brother, Cary Battles & his wife Gwen.

Funeral services will be at Hixson's in Moss Bluff on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at 2pm with a visitation starting at 10am until the time of service. Pastor James Rivers of First Baptist Moss Bluff will officiate the services. Grave side ceremony will be followed at old Ritchie cemetery in Moss Bluff on South Perkins Ferry Rd.
