Louis Ray West, 90, of Moss Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles. He was born to his late parents, Homer and Iva West on March 20, 1928 in Okmulgee,Oklahoma. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, watching sports, attending church, and was known for his great sense of humor. He loved to tell stories with much laughter. Most of all, he loved his family and was privileged to be the caretaker of his wife, Laura through the years.
He is survived by his son, Steve West and wife Marion of Round Rock, TX; two daughters, Debbie Bergstrom and husband Robert of Port Neches, TX, Cindy Whitley and husband Blake of Moss Bluff, LA; six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Louis is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Laura West; parents; and one sister, Jean Swider.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff at 2:00pm on Monday, June 25, 2018 with Dr. Steve Bennett officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Monday, from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at New Ritchie Cemetery.
