But it is just a vapor.
Eternity belongs to God...
Our choices...Then our Eternal reward.
Marjorie Nelda Welch Hollingshead began her journey on this earth, February 12, 1928, born into the home of Stella and Hampton Welch. Nelda lived in Lake Charles and the Moss Bluff area all of life. Nelda attended Marion High School.
She worked at the telephone company in Lake Charles, until she met and married the love of her life; Albert L. Hollingshead, Sr. Albert and Nelda were blessed to celebrate 66 years together. During these 66 years they were able to travel extensively through the United States and overseas. Although Nelda did not work at a public job after her marriage, she did work beside her husband to build a business, Hollingshead Water Well Service. She was also the owner and operator of Nell's Fabric Shop in Moss Bluff. Together Albert and Nelda built 14 homes in the Lake Charles and Moss Bluff area. Nelda was also instrumental in petitioning to have air conditioners placed in school class rooms in Calcasieu Parish, making the rooms comfortable for those who suffered from asthma or other lung conditions.
Left to cherish the memory will be her husband, Albert Hollingshead of Moss Bluff; her daughter, Debbie Hollingshead Reeves and husband A.J. of Topsy; son, Albert L. Hollingshead, Jr. (Al) and wife Jackie of Moss Bluff.
The joys of her heart were her three grandchildren, Aaron L. Reeves and wife Monique of Topsy; Kristy Reeves Lenhart and husband Robert of Gillis and Austin Hollingshead and wife Michelle of Lake Charles. These three grandchildren gave her great joy, with five great grandchildren; Ethan Reeves, Aleksa Reeves; Leann Lenhart, Preston Lenhart and Elijah Miller; sisters, Shirley Beniot of Moss Bluff; Eleanor McInnis of Breaux Bridge; Sandra Welch of Lake Charles; sister in law, Judy Welch of Moss Bluff; and many nieces and nephews and life long friends.
Those who had gone ahead and were waiting with open arms to welcome Nelda to her new home were her parents, Stella and Hampton Welch; brother, Calvin Welch; and her sister, Opal Welch Hebert.

The family would like to give thanks to Harbor Hospice Care, for the wonderful treatment of our loved one. The care and concern shown by them made this time easier. Special thanks to her nurse Angie Rogers, who gave assurances over and over to us in the care of our love one, also, Leslie Richard, the aide that took such tender care of "her baby", and went above and beyond to be a blessing to us.
