Matthew's personality was unique. Where most young men his age were running track, playing baseball, football, or basketball, he was on the computer, battling other online gamers, learning new cheat codes for his games or camping or fishing out at Toledo Bend. To know him was to love him. Matthew had one of those personalities that was almost infectious. He was always smiling, talking, just begging to show someone the new things he had discovered on his games. Matthew had his mother's eyes, they just lit up when he smiled his VERY magical smile. He could walk into a room and smile and just light up everyone around him. He had this goofy grin that he would give you when he knew you didn't know what he was talking about with his games, but he was more than happy to share. He loved when the family came over for holidays, one of his favorites being new years, he LOVED his fireworks. Such a daredevil with them, always the first one to spot the black cats and the last one to stop lighting them.
Matthew had a lot of friends who loved him. He was so friendly and had such a big heart. And boy was he smart. He loved spending time with his paw paw, helping him build new things, and was awarded most outstanding in his music studies, and his last act of kindness was donating life to others who needed help through organ donation. He saved the lives of six other people. SIX families get to keep loving their loved ones because of this wonderful, selfless young man, including a family member of our own family.
Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Shane and Lin Schexneider of Moss Bluff, and Royan and Gris Garcia of Killeen, TX, his beautiful sisters, Kacy and Katy Garcia, and his wonderful grandparents, Roger and Gayle Schexneider of Moss Bluff, Douglas and Debra McCracken of Dry Creek, LA, John Mossow of Moss Bluff, and Roberto Garcia and Ana Burgos of Grand Rapids, MI and many extended family. They will all be left to cherish his memory for the rest of their lives.
