

Robert Clifton Elledge, 76, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27 2016, while in the loving care of his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday April 1, 2016, 1 pm, Moss Bluff Hixson's Funeral Home burial following at Ritchie Cemetery.
Born on August 15, 1939, to late parents Ralph B Elledge and Effie Adcock Elledge of Hebert, Louisiana. While attending high school, he was offered a football scholarship but instead he chose to join the navy at the age of 17. He was always known as a steadfast man committed to duty and proudly served aboard the USS Monticello LSD 35, US Calbert, USS Washburn, including being a wartime veteran. After he was honorably discharged from his military service, he worked in construction as a supervisor. He was also employed and retired from Citgo Petroleum as a machinist. Robert served on the union board and the safety committee. Robert was an extremely hard worker and provided for his wife and three daughters. Being a member of the Moss Bluff Bible Church, he served as a deacon. He was a very devoted Christian. Hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren occupied his free time. He was known to his friends as an outstanding outdoorsman. Robert was a master carpenter who possessed numerous skills that allowed him along with his brother to build his first home. Growing up as a sharecropper picking cotton, Robert always dreamed of owning his own home. Robert opened his home to relatives, children of the community, and many long term guests when someone was in need of a home. His sense of responsibility, honesty, integrity, and family values remain in his legacy.
Robert is survived by his wife Pamella Mary Elledge, and three daughters Dana Marie Elledge, Keri Gaudin (Mike), Teri Elledge, as well as his siblings Ralph Elledge, Irene Brady, Leora Cupit, Lilliane Geoders and Lynn Tolbert. He was blessed with three grandchildren (Ari,Zack&Art) during his life. He was preceded in death by his siblings William David Elledge and Effylea Bible.
