

Frank Jackson Burris, 82, of Waynesburg, PA died at 8:19 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at home. He was born June 30, 1943, in Mount Morris, PA, a son of the late Benjamin "Benny" Franklin Burris, Jr. and Dorothy E. Spicer Burris.
He was a member of the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God.
Received his Associate and Bachelor's Degree in History from St. Leo College in St. Leo, Florida.
At the Department of the Army - he was Civilian Retiree after 28 years of service and had spent 4 years in Airforce - Dial Central Office Equipment.
He drove for Senator Nun, he was the Armed Forces Comittee Chairman, was the Executive Vice President of local union 20/25 AFGE (Federal Union for the Government),Life Member and 32 degree Master Mason with Frank F. Baker Lodge #46 F & AM of Garden City, Georgia. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Savannah, Georgia. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Affiliated with Colon Powell & Dick Chaney on 911 as an advisor, 1969 Groummand Aircraft - Lem Project for the walk on the moon project.
He had worked on every major army installation - post camp & stations, worked on the Panama - LAN Networking Systems in Gorgus Army Hospital, upgraded Camp David with Fiberoptic wiring for their Local Access Network and set up presidential visits to other military installations as well as visiting the other major cities in the United States. He set up Nancy & Ronald Regan's visit to Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
He had worked with the United States Secret Service, FBI and CIA in setting up all presidential visits from 1969 - 1995.
He placed the first fiberoptic imaging out of Fort Sam, Houston, TX back to Fort Campbell, Kentucky where you can visually see and talk through the medical operations.
He put in the first cable television network in Waynesburg, PA and Mount Morris, PA in early 1960.
He sat on Contract Review Boards for the Government, and trained Military in the MOS's in the Communications Field.
He set up the Crisis Center in Fort Campbell, Kentucky for the families as post commander -249 deaths from a plane crash, less than 30 minutes after the accident - the center was up and running...and he also set up communications in Brunswick, GA for the Nuclear Sub Post for LAN line systems.
His Wife: Carolyn Ann Lathem Burris whom he married in 1964 died May 22, 2016. Surviving are 3 Sisters: Clara Sue (Jesse) Lemley of Waynesburg, PA, Mary Lynn (Patrick) Beard of Waynesburg, PA, Dorothy Jean (John) Squires of Mount Morris, PA, 3 Brothers: William Dewayne Burris Sr., of Alexandria, VA, Fred Franklin (Nancy) Burris of Houston, PA, Harry Robert (Shirley) Burris Sr. of Houston, PA and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is 1 Brother-Glenn Allen "Pickle" Burris Sr. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, 103 School Road., Mount Morris, PA 15349 with his service being held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating.
Final resting place will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mount Morris.
