He was known for his tireless work ethic—a man who truly never gave up. Stubborn to the core, he stood firm in what he believed, and those who knew him best understood that behind that determined spirit was a heart full of love. He found his greatest joy outdoors—whether casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or walking the greens with a golf club in his hand. Some of his happiest days were spent near the water or enjoying a quiet afternoon on the course.
When he wasn’t outside, you could often find him cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. He was known for always repping his favorite team proudly in his green and gold.
Above all, he loved his family. His greatest pride was his wife, Patricia Mitchell, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love and a beautiful family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Mitchell; his children, Tracee Beavers (spouse Robert Beavers), Travis Mitchell (beside him are Amber Bowling, Trenton, and Zion), and Tanna Fox (spouse Jonathan Fox); his cherished grandchildren, Devon Henry, Destinie Locke, Lacee Beavers, Alyssa Fox, and Brice Fox; and his two brothers, Ron Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
He may not have expressed his love in grand words, but it was shown through his presence, hard work, and unwavering support. Through his example, he taught everyone around him the value of determination, hard work, and true independence.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood, and Brooks Funeral Home in Mt. Washington. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday and continue until the time of service.
