Shane Sanders

Shane Reece Sanders, age 55, of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 2, 2026. He was born on June 13, 1970, in Louisville to John Sanders Jr. and the late Virginia Ruth Sanders.

Shane was a gentle, quiet soul and loved his family deeply. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved working in tile and was proud of his tile jobs. Shane tended to take in any strange animal that needed a home. This could be a squirrel or raccoon if it was abandoned, he made sure it was well cared for providing them with a home.

In addition to his mom, he was also preceded in death by his brother John L. Sanders III, the love of his life Karen Southard and his Grandma and Grandpa Roberts and Grandma and Grandpa Sanders.

He is survived by his father, John “Butch” Sanders Jr.; his brother, Scotty Sanders (Kerri), David Marlett (Michelle); sister-in-law, Helen Baker; his nieces, Destiny Sanders, Shawna Engle, Alexis Sanders, Riley Sanders and Cassie Bryant; his nephews, Nate Sanders and Tristan Sanders along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will take place at 4pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Mt. Washington, 123 Winning Colors Drive. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of service at 4 pm.
