Anne "Jeannine" Ashley

She was born on August 16, 1939, the daughter of Orville and Judy Southard. Jeannine married the love of her life, M. Stanford Ashley, and they spent many happy years together. Jeannine was involved in the Muncie Delaware County Senior Citizens Center. She loved to sing, and her voice had the power to uplift and comfort those around her. Beyond her musical talent, she loved gardening and canning the vegetables she grew.

Survivors include her children, Phillip (Cindy) Zimmerman, Terry Zimmerman, Toby King, and Nila Meese; siblings, Donald Michael Southard, Tony Southard, Karen Loser, Sylvia Davis, and Sharta Huxhold; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Stanford Ashley; siblings, Jimmy Southard, Ronald Southard, Greg Southard, and Lisa Smithson.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
