Barbara Ann Norvell

Barbara Ann Norvell, 65, of Muncie, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born Friday, June 22, 1956, to Harrison Norvell Sr. and Marian (Miles) Norvell. Barbara attended college and became a registered nurse. She worked at Methodist Hospital in Indy for seventeen years and retired in 2014.

Barbara was the BEST mom, grandma, and auntie. She was a great cook and was all about family. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone, and she loved to travel, enjoyed fishing, and loved the slot machines at the casino. Anywhere Barbara was, she was the life of the party and loved to flirt. She was always the first to break out dancing to a Hip-Hop or R&B song. She will truly be missed.

Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons, William Hoosier and Troy Carr; six daughters, Marion (Jeremiah) Houston, Nekia Hoosier, Billie Hoosier, Bijanka Bailey, Tyreauna Thompson, and Tybreyia Williams; brothers, Harrison (Marie) Norvell, Daniel (Jamie) Norvell, Edward (Van) Norvell; and Herbert (Sheri) Norvell; sisters, Fayette Jones and Marilyn Norvell; twenty-one beloved grandbabies that called her “Yaya”; a great-grandchild named RJ Jr., and one great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Marian Norvell; and one brother, Robert Norvell.

A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date. Cremation will take place. Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
