

Brogan Michael Curtis, son of Marla Cook, Chris Cook, and Michael Curtis was born on February 21, 1989 in Muncie, Indiana. He passed away on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the age of 32. Brogan was a graduate of Wapahani High School, class of 2008. He also was a graduate of Indiana Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology in 2013, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
Brogan started his career in 2013 right out of college with the Delaware County Sheriff's Department, where he spent eight years. Brogan was also a member of the Selma Police Department during his career providing safety to the community he grew up in. Brogan transitioned his career in May of 2021 to support at-risk youth with Meridian Health Services where he supported and changed many lives. He presented to preservice teachers at Ball State University, informing them on ways they could accommodate them in the classroom. Brogan was a member of Whitney Lodge #229 AF&M.
Brogan is survived by his wife of nine years, Shelby Curtis who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his mother Marla Cook and father Christopher Cook; mother in-law, Melisa Vaught and father-in- law, David Vaught. He is also survived by his siblings; brother, Bronson Curtis (Kori-ann Curtis), Brandy Mowell, Breque Norris (Rick Norris), Ryan Cook, Michaella Curtis; brother-in-law, David Vaught, and sister-in-law, Jenna Vaught. He is also survived by his grandmother, Louise Glaze; uncles, Randy Glaze (Cindy Claze), Ryan Glaze (Anita Glaze) and many cousins. Brogan loved his eight nieces and nephews, Berlynn Van Horn, Xander Curtis, Leo Curtis, Ashby Norris, Roland Curtis, Aiden, and Ayson.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Curtis; grandfather, JoDohn Glaze; and aunt, Melanie Glaze. Brogan was persistent and prided himself on his hardwork and dedication to helping others. Every single moment of his life was dedicated to serving his family who he loved dearly.
Brogan enjoyed going to car shows, taking camping and fishing trips with his family and friends, attending community events, family Sunday dinners, attending the Muncie Jeep Club with his wife Shelby, and preparing his famous BBQ smoked ribs for all as he was a master smoker. Brogan enjoyed Christmas time the most, and was fantastic at finding the most thoughtful gift for everyone.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Daniel Kauffman officiating. A graveside service will follow at Blacks Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Suzanne Greshman Center will be honoring Brogan Friday, December 10, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at their Festival of Lights display.
