Cathy Jo Lyons

Cathy Jo Lyons, 64, Muncie, passed away Saturday morning, June 8, 2019, at her home. She was born Tuesday, November 9, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Alford and Helen (Sawick) Slocum. Cathy was very active in supporting the activities of both her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and making clothes, and working in her home. She was a dedicated employee at General Motors Truck Assembly plant in Ft. Wayne for twenty-three years. She was a member of UAW Local #2209. Cathy attended Corinth United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, David Lyons; son, SSG Andrew Lyons, in the U.S. Army; daughter, Amanda Rae Lyons; three grand-daughters, Lillian Lyons, Piper Lyons, and Carini Lyons; one brother, Clayton Slocum; two sisters, Carol Slocum and Cheryl Vines; her mother-in-law, Juanita Lyons and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Helen Slocum; and a brother, Clinton Slocum. A Memorial Service to celebrate Cathy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2019, at Corinth United Methodist Church, 3210 W.
