David P. Boat

He was born July 17, 1936, the son of Alfred N. and Ida F. (McGraw) Boat in Brightwood, Indiana.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He had worked for many years as a groundskeeper for various school systems and municipalities. David was also involved with the Boat House Ministry.

He loved the World of War Craft computer game and reading westerns.

David is survived by his wife, Roberta (Mitchell) Boat; daughters, Anita Garcia (Earl Lindsey), Ida Boat (Ralph Cornett), Anna Ramey (Jerry Reel), and Paula (Tim) Burgess; siblings, Elizabeth Clippen and Phillip Boat; fifteen grandchildren , nineteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Paul Boat, II.; siblings, Mary Hoskins, Robert Boat, Alfred Boat, Margaret Jones, and Tony Boat.

Services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.

Visitation will be Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
