David was born on February 18, 1981, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Paulette (Mazanowski) Farver and Charles Ronald Farver. He moved to Muncie, Indiana, when he was just four years old. He was a 1999 graduate of Muncie Central high school.
While he loved everything Ball State and was a season ticket holder for football, his blood bled Penn State blue. Despite being confined to a wheelchair for the last couple decades of his life, Dave was a huge sports fan. While volleyball and football were his favorites, he never met a sport he wouldn’t watch. His superpower was watching one game on TV, one game on his iPad and listening to a third game on the radio.
Dave was a long time Special Olympics athlete. He was both a member and ambassador for Best Buddies. He was a fourth degree knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member and greeter at St. Francis of Assisi parish. He was also the unofficial social director for Hillcroft Services, Inc.
Dave is survived by his parents, his oldest sister Bethany (Farver) Miller and brother-in-law Patrick Miller, his nephew Bentley Miller and niece Sarah Miller, and his middle sister Katie (Farver) Hetrick. He is also survived by many, many friends who became like family to him.
As his favorite musician sang, “freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose”. Dave is completely and utterly free now.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Dave’s name to either Indiana Best Buddies or Delaware County Special Olympics.
