

Born on June 11, 1932, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of the late Jess and Wanda (Leing) Ulrich. Donald was a graduate of Hagerstown Junior-Senior High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
A devoted Christian, Donald was a longtime member of Antioch Christian Church in Losantville, Indiana. He began his career as a machine repairman at Perfect Circle (Dana) in Hagerstown, where he met the love of his life, Dea McReynolds. The two were married on June 21, 1958, and shared 67 wonderful years together. Later, they co-owned Top Quality Tool Grind, a business dedicated to sharpening and refurbishing tools for various companies throughout the area.
Donald enjoyed fishing with his brother, cheering on IU basketball, and following NASCAR races. He was well-known for his hearty chili and comforting vegetable soup, which he often shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dea (McReynolds) Ulrich; daughter, Denise Ulrich-Harris; sister, Marilyn Seamons of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother-in-law, Vernon McReynolds; 15 nieces and nephews; and two honorary grandchildren, Mason and Evan Bowlin.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Jim Ulrich; son-in-law, Sam Harris; and brother-in-law, Terry McReynolds.
The family will hold visitation on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blountsville Congregational Christian Church, 7746 E High St., Losantville, Indiana, 47354, followed by a memorial service starting promptly at 11:00 AM.
