

She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday, August 28, 1926, the daughter of Hayden J. Lehman and Mae R Lehman. The family moved to Muncie when Dorothy was three years old. Dorothy attended Muncie schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School. She married Andrew Riebe on August 22, 1948, and he passed away in 1997.
Dorothy was the Secretary to the Dean of Women at Ball State University from 1946 to 1950. She then became a mother and homemaker for her family. She was a faithful member of Riverside United Methodist Church for fifty-six years, and then Westminster Presbyterian Church for the last thirty-four years. She was a member of ALOE Seniors Group at Westminster Presbyterian Church, sang in the Muncie Community Chorus, and sang in the church choir for forty years. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Alan (Patricia) Riebe of Fort Wayne; her daughter, Linda (Alan) Miller of Muncie; four grandchildren, Matthew Miller of Noblesville, Mark (Rachel) Miller of Staunton, VA, Stephanie Riebe of Marion, and Andrew (Amanda) Riebe of Fort Wayne; nine great-grandchildren, Else, Mallory, Rosalie, and Vaughn Miller, Nora, Ava, and Isla Miller, Mae and Walter Riebe, with one on the way in March 2022; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Riebe; parents, Hayden and Mae Lehman; and sister, Evelyn Maidlow.
A private funeral service for the family will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2801 West Riverside Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. A mask is required, as well as social distancing. Everyone else is welcome to attend the service virtually by going to westminpca.com. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
