of 1958. She was employed at a shirt factory in Jamestown, Tennessee, was a homemaker for many years, sold Avon, and retired from Ball Memorial Hospital, where she was in housekeeping for 18 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, going to church, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by sisters: Charlene Atkinson, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Margaret Beaty of Crossville, Tennessee; daughters: Marsha Pennington (husband Curtis) of Crossville, Tennessee, and Teresa Matchett (husband Chris) of Yorktown, Indiana; grandchildren: Nicole Houston (husband Chad), LeeAnn Atkinson (husband Matthew), Kelsey Tollett (husband Jordan), Jordan Matchett (wife Sadie) and Jensen Amick (husband Caleb); great grandchildren: Stormi, Jhett and Harbor Houston; Annslee and Owen Atkinson; Ella and Waylon Tollett; and Rowen, Milo and Tessa Matchett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelia Beaty; brother, Jesse Willard Beaty; sisters, Katherine Grubb, Roxie Beaty, Fannie Westfelt, Dollie Ramsey; second husband,Odell Robbins; Stanford Durell Beaty, father of her daughters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm, Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304, with Pastor Brenton Hill officiating. Visitation is from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Illuminate Muncie Foursquare Church or to Muncie First Freewill Baptist Church.
