Estes Gregory 97, Muncie, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his beloved wife, Betty, and many special loving family members and friends. He passed away Wednesday morning, April 24, 2024, while at his daughter, Renee’s home.
He was born Monday, December 27, 1926, in Co-op, Kentucky, the son of General and Millie (Slaven) Gregory. Among family and friends, Estes was a legendary storyteller. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and a faithful Christian. Estes enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was an avid sports fan, especially IU basketball. He was a member of the Town Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include his children, Renee (husband, David) Huffman, Allen (wife, Phyllis) Gregory, and Steven Gregory; grandchildren, Heather (Brian), Beccah (Tom), Ashley (Gee), Faith (Taylor), Nisha, and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Tyler, Trevor, Trent, Kaylyn, Landon, Elleigh, Riggs, Sadie, and Liam; several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, General Gregory; mother, Millie Haynes; wife of nearly seventy years, Betty Jean Gregory; brothers, Lawrence Haynes, Espy Haynes, and Junior Haynes; and a sister, Jeweline Hill.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Preacher Mark Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
