

He was born Monday, April 29, 1935, in Stearns, Kentucky, the son of Alonzo and Effie (Coffey) Tapley. Glen grew up and attended school in McCreary County, Kentucky where he met and married Louise Waters on December 24, 1958. Glen left Kentucky for a fresh start in Indiana in the 1950s, where he found employment in Muncie. In his spare time, Glen enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing with his brothers and son Jeff. He worked for Owens-Illinois for 17 years before retiring from Ball Corporation in 2001.
Survivors include daughter, Penny (husband John) Armstrong; son, Jeffery (wife Terri) Tapley; brothers, Larry (wife Hazel) Tapley, Jerry (wife Brenda) Tapley, Roy (wife Betty) Tapley; three grandchildren, Terra (wife Marilyn) Barlow, and Miccah (husband Jason) West; eleven great-grandchildren, Piper, Makenna, Thomas, Darrian, McKenna, Blaine, Casea, Gage, Ryleigh, Natalee, and Shawn; one great-great-granddaughter, three great-great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Louise; and parents, Alonzo and Effie Tapley; brother, Kenneth Tapley; sister, Joyce Tucker; and grandson, Craig Fannin.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
