She was 84 years old.
Jackie graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1952 and was a Bearcat through and through. She started working at Merchants National Bank as soon as she finished school. She was so proud to be able to purchase the first telephone her family had ever owned. She retired from the bank in 2000.
Raising three kids as a single mom, she always taught us to live by the Golden Rule, treat others as you would like to be treated. As difficult as things were, she made sure we always had presents under the tree, and our favorite flavor for our birthday cake!
She moved to Sanders Glen Assisted Living in Westfield where she lived for 4 1/2 years.
She was living at Wellbrooke of Carmel when she passed away.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Thorn, (Muncie), daughter, Julie Velazquez (Jim, grandchildren Chelsea and Sam), sons, Jerry (Sue) and Jeff, along with 2 nephews, Joe and Mike.

A funeral service will be held at Elm Ridge funeral home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019.
Visitation will be held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
Jackie loved roses, but would love it if you donated to your local animal shelter, as she loved animals almost as much as us!
