

She was born to the late Lee and Mary Duckworth on October 11, 1936.
Janet graduated from Green Township High School in 1954, where she was a member of the Majorette in the band.
On August 25, 1962 she married Gary F. Paholke at Muncie High Street United Methodist Church. Janet initiated and established the Pulmonary and Allergy Department at Ball Memorial Hospital. She retired in 2016 after working fifty plus years.
Janet and Gary enjoyed their time together dancing to 50’s music and listening to Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. They were avid card players, specifically euchre and pinochle. For many years they traveled to St. Joseph Island, Canada to go camping and fishing. They also enjoyed traveling to Spain to visit friends. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include one son, Harold “Hal” Paholke, (wife, Lisa) of Effingham, IL; one daughter, Kim Penrod (husband, Tom) of Muncie; seven grandchildren, Heather Zimmerman (husband, Jason) of IL, Amber Penrod (fiancé, Erik Lewis) of Muncie, Amanda Reinke (husband, Brad) of Muncie, Johnathan Paholke of IL, Ryan Paholke (fiance, Precious) of IL, Caity Paholke of Texas, Jayson Paholke of Texas; nine great-grandchildren; Lucas Penrod (fiancé, Sky) and Jordyn Reinke of Muncie, Isabella Manhart, Allison Manhart, Brady Zimmerman, Kaden Paholke, Harper Paholke, Stella Paholke and Rylan Paholke all of IL; one great-great grandchild, Anakin Penrod; one sister, Allie Mae Huber; one brother, Dan Duckworth (wife, Rose); nephews, Tony Huber (wife, Melissa), Kevin Duckworth (wife, Debbie), Greg Duckworth (wife, Nancy), Rick Glaze; nieces, Jeanette Sumwalt (husband, Dennie), Kim Olinger (husband, Wayne), Debbie Parks (husband, Johnny), Lori-Glaze Smith; sister-in-law, Carolyn Duckworth; several great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Barb Brock and Ralph Fustor.
Janet is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Gary F. Paholke; her parents, Lee and Mary Duckworth; granddaughter, Niccole Lou Paholke; son, Robert L. “Beau” Paholke; sister, Rev. Marilee Duckworth; brother, James A. “Jim” Duckworth; brother-in-law, Charles Huber; and Charles Huber Jr.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave. Muncie, IN 47302 with Daniel Kauffman officiating.
Calling will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
