John S Wilson

John Sargeant Wilson, 74, formerly of Muncie, passed away in South Carolina. He was born August 19, 1949, the son of Paul Wilbur Wilson and Eleanor Adams. John served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he suffered in Vietnam. He continued to serve his community as a member of the knights of Columbus. John also became a Chaplain for the VFW in South Carolina. He is survived by two sons, Drew (wife, Madison) Wilson, and Alex (wife, Niki) Wilson; two grandchildren, Ellie, and Graham; brothers and sisters, Harold J. (wife, Eva), Gary (wife, Mary), Mark (wife, Natalie), Roger (wife, Carrie), Ed Jr., Steven, Cindy, Sandy, and Lori. We was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Wilbur Wilson and Eleanor Adams; stepmother, Betty Wilson; brothers, Paul Wilbur Jr., and Forester Adams; sister, Paula Joe Hendershot, and a great great nephew, Elric Ray Pier. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the Elm Ridge Funeral Home Community Room, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
