

Joyce Ann (Wade) Harman, 87, of Yorktown, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in her family home where she had resided since 1964. Born to Floyd and Esther (Polson) Wade, Joyce was one of seven children. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1955.
On December 3, 1955, Joyce married Don Earl Harman, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2015.
Together, they founded Harman’s Drain Cleaning in 1969. This family business flourished as a father-and-son partnership with Joyce serving as the steadfast rock and peacekeeper behind the scenes.
For over 6 decades, every day Joyce and Don would enjoy a good cup of coffee and friendly conversation with their close friend, Larry Lennis. In her later years, Joyce cherished the special bond she shared with her sisters, offering mutual support and love. Above all, she adored her family.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Julie Vance; daughter-in-law, Debbie Harman; son-in-law, Jim Bundy; grandchildren, Erin Harman, Andy (Melanie Robb) Towne, Jordan (Brittany) Towne, Ivan Vance, and Grace Vance; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Janice Clevenger, Doris Newby, and Patty Wehlage.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Don Harman; son, Rod Harman; and daughter, Lori Bundy.
Joyce will be remembered for her strength, love, and the unwavering support she provided to her family.
A celebration of life honoring Don and Joyce will be held at 4 pm, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at their residence. Cremation has been entrusted with Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.elmridgefuneralhome.com.
