Julio was born on April 4, 1950 in the city of Manhattan, New York and was raised in Puerto Rico. After graduating from the Academia de Santa Monica, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he attended University of Madrid, and he joined the United States Army, proudly served his country in Vietnam and retired as a first sergeant 28 years later settling in Muncie.
Julio is survived by his mother, Edna Melendez, siblings, Elaine (Joey), Cindy, and Richard; children, and grandchildren, aunts and many cousins who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Julio Acosta and a daughter, Mai Michelle.
Per Julio’s request, there will be a private service for the family.
