Linda L. Gegenheimer

Linda spent her childhood growing up in Carroll County, Ohio. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1975.

Linda married her husband, John, on October 23, 1976, in Granville, Indiana. During the course of their 48-year marriage, they lived in both Ohio and Indiana; raising their children in Ohio and spending the last 20 years back in Indiana. They finally settled in their forever home in Muncie in 2010.

She was a long-time employee of Ball State Dining Services in various positions at The Atrium. The people were always what made her time there so joyful, and she loved the students.

Linda was an avid gardener. Playing in the dirt was her happy place and that was evident by the vast gardens at her home. She loved Halloween, crafting, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and reading. Linda was happiest spending time with her family, friends, dog (Snickers), cat (Tigger), and her “furry grandchildren.” Her family was always the most important thing to her.

Linda is survived by her husband, John Gegenheimer; children Clinton Gegenheimer and fiancée, Catherine, Miranda Futrell and husband, Sean, grandchildren Kara, Kurtis, Matthew, and Lilly; and great-grandchildren Enzo and Nova.

A visitation will be held on June 28, 2025 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304, followed by a memorial service. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Linda's memory to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Services, Ball State University, or another cause close to you.
