Marilyn Jean Hicks

She was born Monday, January 10, 1949, in Muncie, the daughter of Francis Nelson and Dorothy May (Fletcher) Gilmer. Marilyn and her husband, Albert attended the Church of the Nazarene in Gaston. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed listening to country music and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She worked many years as a school crossing guard.

Survivors include her husband, Albert; four daughters, Laura Logan, Angela (husband, Dale) Byers, Lisa Marie Hicks, and Mary Logan; one brother, Shawn (wife, Jeanna) Gilmer; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Nelson and Dorothy May (Fletcher) Gilmer; and a daughter, Dorothy Logan.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
