Marjorie "Jean" Thomas

Marjorie “Jean” Thomas, 81, of Muncie, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on December 31, 1943, to Omer Gene and Marjorie Edith (Hobbs) Denney. On July 5, 1963, Jean married John William “Bill” Thomas, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2019.

Jean graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1962. In her younger years, she fostered special needs children and worked at Muncie Southside High School's 'I Can Shop'. Jean loved children, was the ultimate caretaker, and she spent her life caring for those in need.

Jean is survived by her children, Brian (Katherine) Thomas, Mike (Brandi) Thomas, and Cathy Thomas; grandchildren, Steven Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Jaylen Coomer, Jamison Coomer, Brees Copenhaver, Ezra Copenhaver, Felix Thomas, Tiffany Kresteski, and Jeremy Hockaday; great-grandchildren, Madalyn Thomas, Mikayla Thomas, Carter Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Morgan Kresteski, Abigail Hockaday-Clement, Jackson Hockaday, and Miles Hockaday; sister, Jenney (Mike) Voke; niece Mindy (Travis) Bassett and her children, Trevor and Brianna; and nephew, Kevin (Jenni) Voke and his daughter, Abby.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband of 55 years, Bill “JA” Thomas; and her children, Tony Thomas and Robin Thomas.

A private visitation will be held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will take place in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
