Mary Lou Himes Manifold

She was born in Mooreland, Indiana, on September 6, 1927, the daughter of William Bales and Prudence (Cline) Bales. She married Francis Himes and he passed away in 1971. She married Joseph Manifold and he passed away in 1997.

Mary worked at Indiana Glass for fourteen years, retiring in 1991. Mary was a NASCAR fanatic. She collected an entire room of various NASCAR memorabilia. She enjoyed being with family, and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her sons, Michael (Anita) Himes, Steven Himes, Thomas Himes; daughter, Mary Smith; step-sons, Joseph (Sheila) Manifold, Jon (Sandy) Manifold; brother-in-law, John (Susie) Himes; sister, Marilyn Fellers; grandchildren, Brad (Angie) Himes, Wade Himes, Jill (Fara) Tweedy, and Shawn (Jess) Neal; four step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families.

Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis Himes and Joseph Manifold; her parents, William and Prudence Bales; and a brother, William Bales Jr.

Private family visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
